There is an article on the new Exmouth Lifeboat Station on pages 48 and 49 in the winter issue 590 2009-2010 of the Lifeboat magazine, in it the architect talks about designing of a lifeboat station. :D

And talking about Lifeboat Stations Appledore in North Devon are getting a brand new 2.7 million pound Tamer class Lifeboat this year 2010 to replace their Tyne class 47-027 George Gibson.

Some years ago Sue and I visited Lyme Regis and it was Lifeboat "Open Day" so we had a look round and guess what, the Lyme Regis lifeboat was called the Susan Ashley.

That Lifeboat was changed in September 1997 to an Atlantic 75 inshore Lifeboat called The Pearl of Dorset B-741 and the Lifeboat Susan Ashley was returned to the relief fleet at Poole.
